The Secretariat of the Boao Forum for Asia held a press conference in Beijing on the 16th, announcing that the Boao Forum for Asia 2019 Annual Conference will be held in Boao, Hainan from March 26 to March 29, with the theme "Common Destiny, Common Action, and Common Development" .

The Boao Forum for Asia 2019 annual meeting plans to set up about 50 formal discussions, including the opening conference, sub-forums, CEO dialogue, and round tables. The specific topics are planned to have five major sections: including open world economy, multilateralism, regional cooperation, global governance, innovation-driven, high-quality development, and hot frontiers.

Li Baodong, secretary general of the Boao Forum for Asia, said that the world economy grew moderately in 2018, but the momentum slowed down. The growth trends and monetary policies of the major economies have clearly diverged, the international capital flows, financial markets, and energy markets have intensified volatility, the multilateral trading system has been severely impacted, and the problem of global structural reforms has become prominent. At the same time, competition among major powers is becoming increasingly fierce, international hotspot issues are heating up, and unstable and uncertain factors in the international situation have increased significantly. The Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference should build an open and inclusive discussion platform for all participants, and also send a clear message to the world to build consensus on global governance.
